About Talha Khan
Talha Khan is a fourth-year student in Biomedical Sciences at Toronto Metropolitan University, with research interests in neurobiology, therapeutic ultrasound, and the molecular mechanisms of disease. He is a Research Trainee at the Krembil Brain Institute (UHN), where he supports a focused ultrasound project investigating excitatory and inhibitory modulation of the globus pallidus internus in Parkinson's disease. His work involves MRI preparation, neuronavigation support, patient screening, and data management, alongside ongoing training in ultrasound-based neuromodulation.
Talha also volunteers in Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology at Brampton Civic Hospital, where he assists with patient flow and clinical operations in a high-acuity environment. His broader research curiosity includes ultrasound-microbubble interactions, neuro-oncology signaling pathways, and translational approaches that connect molecular insights to therapeutic innovation. Across all roles, he is driven by interdisciplinary problem-solving and a commitment to enhancing patient outcomes through scientific research.
