About ClarityPath Research Institute
We are a minority-led Canadian nonprofit dedicated to equity-driven brain health research and community support — advancing rigorous science that reaches the people who need it most.
Why ClarityPath Exists
CLARITYPATH is a minority led non-profit research institute advancing rigorous, equity driven, systematic research and clinical trials in geriatric care, adult mental health, trauma, and neurodevelopment, including ADHD. We focus on the full lifespan, from early neurodevelopmental conditions to late life cognitive decline and dementia, while addressing inequities affecting underserved, marginalized, and equity seeking communities. We apply trauma informed frameworks in our research, evaluate care models and prevention strategies, and translate our findings into accessible evidence based educational resources for the public, care partners, healthcare providers, and academic audiences. Our work integrates the biological, psychological, and social dimensions of brain health to advance public understanding and strengthen outcomes for individuals and communities.
"Equity is not an afterthought — it is our foundation. Every research priority, resource, and partnership decision is viewed through an equity lens."
Our Vision
A world where people enjoy better brain health, dignity, and quality of life across the lifespan. A world where mental health conditions, neurodevelopmental differences such as ADHD, as well as age-related conditions including dementia, are understood, supported, and addressed through innovative research and compassionate care.
What We Stand For
These principles guide every decision, every research project, and every community interaction at ClarityPath.
Equity & Inclusion
We centre the communities most affected by brain health disparities. Equity is not an afterthought — it is our foundation. Every research priority, resource, and partnership decision is viewed through an equity lens.
Rigorous Science
We uphold the highest standards of scientific integrity. Evidence-informed practice is essential to the trust we build with caregivers, clinicians, partners, and the public.
Community Partnership
Those with lived experience of brain health conditions are not research subjects — they are partners, advisors, and guides. We integrate community perspectives at every stage of our work.
Transparency & Integrity
Research that remains in journals doesn't change lives. We are committed to turning findings into accessible, practical tools — and to being open about how we work, who we serve, and how we use every dollar.
Our Commitment to Equity
Brain health inequity is not accidental — it is the product of systemic exclusion from research, clinical trials, and care systems. ClarityPath exists to directly counter that.
- Inclusive study design — racialized and marginalized communities are active research participants, not afterthoughts.
- Culturally responsive resources — every guide and clinical summary is developed with awareness of cultural context.
- Free & barrier-free access — all resources publicly available, because financial barriers to knowledge are themselves a form of inequity.
- Community-guided priorities — research priorities shaped through consultation with the communities we serve.
"Equity is not an afterthought — it is our foundation. Every research priority, resource, and partnership decision is viewed through an equity lens."
