Mansi Bhatia
Volunteer Research Assistant — ClarityPath Research Institute
About Mansi Bhatia
Mansi Bhatia is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, double majoring in Health & Disease and Physiology. Her academic and extracurricular pursuits reflect a deep-rooted commitment to health equity, community engagement, and culturally responsive care. With a passion for supporting underserved populations, she bridges the gap between scientific research, healthcare accessibility, and public education.
Mansi currently serves as the Student Director for Global Brigades Canada, where she oversees national-level operations and programming aimed at addressing global health disparities. In this role, she leads student teams from across the country in organizing medical, dental, and public health outreach in rural communities abroad. Through this work, she advocates for ethical global engagement and builds platforms for students to contribute meaningfully to international development.
Her interest in brain health and aging has led her to join ClarityPath as a Volunteer Research Assistant, where she contributes to projects that explore cognitive aging and dementia. She is particularly invested in understanding how the lived experiences of individuals from Indigenous, racialized, and marginalized communities shape their interactions with healthcare systems. Her goal is to help inform care models that are grounded in cultural humility and responsive to the unique realities of historically excluded populations.
Beyond the lab, Mansi is a strong advocate for early health education and interdisciplinary outreach. She co-founded the Teddy Bear Clinic and The Miracle Foundation at U of T, where she works to create safe, educational environments for children and youth to learn about health, medicine, and wellness. Whether she's designing curriculum for workshops, mentoring high school students through the Saturday Program, or collaborating with healthcare professionals abroad, Mansi is driven by a belief in collective action, compassion, and the transformative power of knowledge.
